I am not sure if it is the same , but my mother had an apricot poodle and she used to feed it small portions of cooked rice and this stopped the staining and nasty eye brown drainage . You can clean by gently washing with baby shampoo this will not hurt your dog if it happens to get a little in its eyes.

Try the rice ... Sounds crazy I know but it really worked on her dog. Good luck.

Go to a pet supply store and ask where they keep the eye cleaner. I use it on my little white guy, and it works just fine. You just put it on with a piece of cotton every day. If the stains have been there a while, it'll take a while, but the area will eventually whiten up.

Just keep wetting a washcloth in warm water and gently keep wiping it. The eye boogers will soften and start coming off.

Chamomile Tea Bags actually work, give the bag a little boil and once it's cooled done, gently wipe around the eyes.

They sell a special solution at the pet store. It's in a very small bottle with a dropper. You might have to ask for it because it's hard to see on the shelf. It's made especially for your breed of dog.

my daughter-in-law takes hers to the vet to get the hair around his eyes clipped. Use baby shampoo on a wet cloth daily to help maintain.
