Is it normal to have more frequent periods while breastfeeding? I had my baby in June. I als had a tubal at the time I had my baby. I am having a period that will last seven days then two weeks from the first day later starting another period. Is this normal? Anything I can do to stop it? Is it related to the tubal? Thanks for your help. I am just tired of having a period every other week.

I've been reading about tubal ligation syndrome. Could this be a symptom of that?

I never heard of having frequent periods while breastfeeding, I breast feed all my kids, But before them I used to bleed all the time until i got the shot but they made me get off, I start back bleeding again, my doctor said some women are free bleeders(something like that). I had my baby in April 2006. But I did not get my tubal until 2wks later. I'm pretty sure your body will get back to normal. Sometimes I only bleed for two days. Good Luck Too you!!!

I can't tell you about bleeding after a tubal ligation.
But, I breastfed both my babies for 4 1/2 months.
For the first post-partum of child one, I bled heavily for two months. It was a bad delivery. I lost a ton of blood and it botched up my production of breastmilk, but I hung in there and did it.
The second delivery I had was easy and I only bled for like 4 weeks.
For my first child, I didn't have a period until she was 6 months old. For my second child, I still don't have one. He was born in mid-May and I just stopped breastfeeding last week. I am waiting for my milk to dry up. I think it is basically gone.
When you breastfeed, it is supposed to postpone your periods and if you breastfeed exclusively, is a natural type of birth control.
I think you need to consult your doctor.
Are you sure it's periods and not prolonged bleeding from delivery?
From personal experience, your hormones are whacky after childbirth. I'm currently losing gobs of hair each time I brush or wash my hair. I know it's the hormonal changes my body is going through. Getting back to normal is tough after childbirth. Best of luck and congrats on the baby!

HI, I am a Labor & delivery nurse & a nursing mom of 2 ( I still nurse my 18 month old) You should not be having more frequent bleeds, if anything light, or none. Some women (like me) don't have onetil they stop nursing. I would sugest calleing your OB or PCP in the morning. If you are experincing alot of clotting or strinngy bleeding you may have a infectio, which is what I think may be going on.. Any way call you doc. & insist you get in ASAP. Good Luck & tell your doctor all the details even the "gross" ones so you can be properly diagnosed & treated if need be.

Call your doctor! I've been nursing my 15 month old and to date have just had one short period, and that was 2 1/2 months ago. Friends of mine who also nursed either had no periods at all, or shorter, lighter periods while nursing. You should really get this checked out. I don't want to frighten you, but I really think something must be wrong. Not as a doctor, 'cause I'm not, just as a fellow nursing mom. I do hope you're okay.

Most of those who breastfeed usually misses their menstruation for sometime. However, it is not always the case.
Your menstruation is not normal. Normal menstruation usually lasts for 5-7 days. Anything in excess of that is abnormal . How many pads do you consume per day? Did the flow increased? If it is bothering you, I advice that you see your Obstetrician.

i could be mad if somebody did some thing like this to my toddler devoid of asking. What if the different mom had a communicable illness?? it rather is exceeded by way of breastmilk!!! A mom has a appropriate to come back to a determination how she needs to feed her toddler.. breastfeeding isnt for everybody.. i attempted it, it didnt artwork out.. I commend any mom who does breastfeed effectively. The colustrum is effectual.. yet easily, the toddler does no longer have reaped plenty advantages from one or 2 feedings in any case.. easily, this woman positioned the toddler at a much bigger probability of exposure to illness by ability of feeding her devoid of asking! I dont have a controversy with a woman breastfeeding a toddler that isnt hers.. yet on condition that she has permission to attain this, and he or she's additionally been screened for infectious illness! No its no longer uncommon for women to breastfeed a toddler that isnt theirs.. this could be carried out in lots of alternative cultures.. and here interior the U. S. we do have places to donate breast milk, and a few women have even offered milk from different women.. its reccommended to pass by way of a provider tho rather of figuring out to purchase for direct from somebody because of the fact those centers do demonstrate screen for ailments.

does not sound normal. Schedule an appointment with GYN. Tell the Dr's office scheduler you need to come asap due to bleeding.
You may need a D&C.
