It is of Brazilian orgin & is spelled Capoeira. It was developed by slaves. thet disguised it as dance to fool the slaveowners who did not allow the slaves to practice fighting for obvious reasons. From the little I know, it can be quite effective but lacks the philosophical grounding of traditional Asian arts.

You're refering to Capoeira and it's completely useless in a real self defense situation. It's great if you want to learn some really flashy moves and look cool while dancing around to latin drum beats other than that it's basically all art and no martial!

Are you talking about Kepweda? Not sure if that's how you spell it. It's a martial art that looks like the people are dancing.
