My bf spends $ left and right. Easily spends 200 on the bar and eating out every single week. Spends another 50 here and there for sporting events and concerts. Hes been making close to 60k a year for almost 2 years and hasnt saved anything.

If i says anything about it, he goes, i work hard and deserve it. So i have always let it slide, but now hes complaining about spending money to come visit me at college cause his "money is tight." Yet he still goes out and spends hundreds on beer. I feel neglected and like the last priority he has.

You're right on target.

My boyfriend is like that too, I'm currently going to college and busting my *** to get through it. I don't have a steady job right now but I make money when I really need it. He on the other hand landed a pretty good job for not going to college and makes about 30-40K a year, it isn't great but it's better than nothing. And yet he still doesn't have a penny to his name, yes he gets his bills paid on time, but he denies himself nothing if he wants it. We haven't moved in together yet but I've been begging him to save before we do get to that point, and he tells me I can't even talk because I don't have a job right now. So I totally understand but he will have to come to the point of realization on his own. But if he's using the lack of money as an excuse not to see you then something may be up. You may want to try to talk to him a little more about it, or start going through things like... Do you really want to be with someone like that?

I think your right!!!
Problem is, I don't think it will get any better. He may not be selfish, but I see future fights between you over money. The thing is when he is that irresponsible with money now, what happens down the road if you got married??? He would still be wanting to spend, spend, spend & you may want to be saving for a house, kids & a furture. If he is not even trying to save for a future with or without you, his live for the moment attitude will leave broke in the end!!!

I think it's pretty normal...I'm a guy and i always have trouble saving money. why do you think in most marriages the woman handles the finances lol
Now you're saying he's wasting it on beer.....there's a problem there! but normally guys like to blow money, A lot of us are just bad at money management and don't look forward to money you might need in the future

If you have to ask this you already no the answer, the money that he spends is on himself and not you that is why he is complaining about how much he spends to get to you. I bet if it was to go and see a mate he wouldn't complain.

GIRL I thought that I was the only one with that problem. The best advice I can tell you is hide your money and tell him that you are broke because he is not going to change

Your last sentence said it. You may rate but only after he has gotten his buzz on. He's an alcoholic, a narcissist and shallow. Run.
