Yes, it is lawful. what is forbidden is named in the Quran, those who have websites saying Allah forbids this and Allah forbids that are lost. The Quran says so, that is the wrong direction if you want to start follwing scholars as opposed to the clear guidance of the Quran which Allah has perfected.Seriously, they are lost, if a hadith doesn't echo the Quran Prophet Muhammad didn't say it.
Again people who say Allah forbids this and that, and we can do this if we do that... are misguided... Allah warns us several several times.
[16:116] You shall not utter lies with your own tongues stating: "This is lawful, and this is unlawful," to fabricate lies and attribute them to GOD. Surely, those who fabricate lies and attribute them to GOD will never succeed.
[16:117] They enjoy briefly, then suffer painful retribution.
Innovated Prohibitions Condemned
[7:32] Say, "Who prohibited the nice things GOD has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?" Say, "Such provisions are to be enjoyed in this life by those who believe. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of Resurrection." We thus explain the revelations for people who know.
[7:33] Say, "My Lord prohibits only evil deeds, be they obvious or hidden, and sins, and unjustifiable aggression, and to set up beside GOD powerless idols, and to say about GOD what you do not know."
[7:34] For each community, there is a predetermined life span. Once their interim comes to an end, they cannot delay it by one hour, nor advance it.
Just stay clean, and don't let your hair get dirty, Islam is common sense

As long as they keep their hair clean, they can have dread locks. There's nothing in Islam that fordibs them for women or men.

lol ok serious answer. In my knowledge any beautification or adornment that women do to their bodies that is not harmful to them or to others is permissible. There is no Quranic or Islamic ruling saying otherwise. Moslem women don't have dreadlocks because it is not looked at as "presentable" in society. Otherwise if you keep your hair clean, no worries.
