Acne can be caused by stress, medication, excessive drying out of the skin- produces more oil, blocked pores, using the wrong products for your skin type, neglect (not washing off makeup properly), hormone inbalance- which can be affected by stress, your diet- too much junk food, caffeine etc, and many other things.
The best way to deal with it...is to go to a Beauty therapist...who can give u suggestions on how u can treat ur skin, by asessing ur skin type, and recommending the right products for u. Nothing can help u overnite...so try some products....i recommend Dermalogica...its the best i hav used..and i have acne prone skin.
Good luck. Hope this helps u :)

i agree that strees doesn't cause acne, but definitely makes it show. i've had acne since i was 13 (i'm 27 now) and it wasn't until 2 or 3 years ago that i could go for weeks at a time without a breakout. lately i've been really stressed and i haven't had a breakout like this in quite a while. i drink a lot of water too each day and it hasn't been helping. but yes, stress is definitely a relevent factor.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

It's true. Hormones play a role too. As well as sugar in your diet.
Drink lots and lots of plain water in addition to the other things you drink each day. Aim for those 8-8oz. glasses! It really works.
And, moisturize! I went to a dermatologist once that illustrated my oily T-zone this way:
It's like having saran wrap on your skin. If it's not hydrated, then impurities can't get out easily. Your skin can't breathe. The deepest white/black heads/zits come from within. Consider your diet and fluids. The shallower/surface ones come from oil, dirt and bacteria on the surface.
Do your best to keep your hands off your face at all costs. Wash off makeup every night and moisturize with a product for your skin type.

Genetics, Hormones & the bacteria propionibacterium can cause acne. Retin A or antibiotics or combo therapy may work for you. See a derm or go to a plastic surgeon's office for a skin consultation. If you need more than products the doc can write you out a Rx.

Stress can affect your complexion, this is definitely true. However, your skin regimen can produce more damning results. Try to use products by Neutrogena or Biore'. They are affordable, easy to find, and they work very well. Also, Use moisturizers, make-up, etc. that is oil FREE. Products with oil in them will wreak havoc on your skin if you're already acne prone, and it will undo all of your hard work. Best of luck to you!

yes, stress causes acne.. it's not a myth.. the myths are the chocolate and diet thing. stress causes more oil to be produced on your face. so with more oil, more pesky pimples.
