I don't defend him, nor attack him. I try to understand, or find a reason behind the things he did in his life. 'Don't judge other, so as others might not judge you". I think it is hard to do that, but we as Christian must try our best to find ways to find peace and understanding with all people, including Muslims, and all people. Buddha is not attacked because of what you stated. He didn't need any defense, he was a righteous person as far as I know. Mohomet on the other hand had many things in his life that needed our attention, and that is why I try to understand him and his people. Hopefully one day we all can reach an understanding of Peace.

Chritian people who defend mohomet are absolutely clueless about VERY basic rules from God. Like number 1 on God's 10 commandments. Check it out, Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other God's before me"

Yes buddah is some peaceful dude, but to choose him And God is like choosing both George Bush AND Al Gore as America's 1 President. Jesus isn't by the way just some peaceful guy who gives people gifts. He's a glorious King, yet died one of the most miserable and slow deaths, hanging on the cross with thorns in his head, and pushing up buy the nails in his hands in oder to breath is final breaths. This death was for demonstrating how far his love reaches for humanity.

Buddah is some sort of idea to find peace. It sounds pretty sweet, I must admit, but it doesn't get you anywhere in many different kinds spitirual walks.

Well, what else can I say. Make your pick. I would have provided more about buddhims if I had known more, but you probebly can compare. Jesus is a lot harder for those who do not truely know, because how how mixed up christian ideas are from the bible. Take christinas who worship Mohomet for example...

If you do Choose christianity, don't listen to answers that seem to part from who Jesus really is. There's lots out there, and they're probebly more frequent than true answers from the bible.

Not all Christian know a lot about Mohammed. First time I heard he is a rapist and a murderer. Maybe because there was a time when Christians, Jews and Muslims used to live harmoniously in the Middle East. There could have been some rifts eversince but not as great as this until land use problem occured. Then, there was also the development of Extremist in both sectors of Jews and Muslims.
But I believe you are wrong about Christian hating the Buddhists. There is no war I believe between Buddhists and Christians. The people fighting in the Middle East are Jews and Muslims for religious and political reasons and most Christians involved in the fighting in the Middle East is not because of religious conflict but to ward off threats against the people of the world specially non-Muslims in United States and its allies. Muslims use their religion to wage war against their enemies. American soldiers who are defending themselves just happened to be Christian but Americans fight to save human lives irregardless of religion.

Who is this Mohomet guy? I've never heard of him? Can you possibly be trying to say, Mohammed?

Okay, we are to serve Jesus only, no other Gods, none, nada, zip.

As far as Buddha, yes, we know he was very peaceful and nice, and Buddhist's don't believe in any form of war, not even killing a fly, but peaceful and nice ain't gonna cut it babe.

I have never heard any of the Christians I know (and I am a Christian) defend Mohammad (the founder of Islam). Christians like myslef do not agree with most of the teachings of Mohammad, but as is true with almost all religions, there are some good things in Islam, just as there are some good things in Buddhism. I was taught not to belittle (mock or show terrible disrespect) other people's beliefs (or lack of beleifs) - but a lot of the times, this is very hard to do (we are only too human).

Personally, I think we Christians could learn a lot from the gentleness and respect for life of Buddhism. Now if you Buddhists place your trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and abandon the notion of reincarnation, what EXCELLENT Christians you'll make. If you do that, I will join your church!
No kidding.

What is your basis for this accusation? Do you have a police report verifying this? Mohammed has been dead for over 1300 years! I can't tell for sure what he did, but I'm sure you are in no personal danger from him now.

So, you are rejecting the validity of the entire Islamic faith based on a personal morality complaint. Since Jesus is God, we all know he's perfect, even if he did complain about having to "drink this cup" in the Garden of Olives and he did accuse God of abandoning him as he hung on the cross. Moses wascalled by God to found the Jewish religion, even though he tried every way he could think of to get out of it, and we know he had a temper. Prince Gautama had no problems with enjoying the luxuries of a pampered, princely life before he became enlightened.

You seem to be obsessed with personalities. The founder must show perfection before his religion can be accepted as valid. I'm no Muslim but it seems your standards are pretty shallow. Shame on those nasty Muslims for promoting prayer, fasting, charity to the poor and all those other terrible things they do!

VQ, why dont you go play with your dolls? Your question does not make sense. Christian people only believe what the Bible says, and Buddha and Muhammed are false doctrines.

I think you are talking to the wrong Christians. The religion of Islam is one of war, murder & NOT of peaceful habitation of all of mankind dwelling together in unity & love. The religion teaches hate, especially for the Jews. No matter what you think of Buddah, he is dead. Jesus is ALIVE TODAY! He is the REAL SON of our REAL GOD who will speak to you, comfort you, lead you and guide you into ALL TRUTH if you JUST ASK HIM!

Yeah, Mohammed did do a lot of evil things.

I have never, nor do not plan to, defend him.

I believe that Buddha was a great philisopher, but he was in no way a deity. Even he denied being one.

Someone asked Buddha, "Are you God?"
He answered, "No."
"Are you an angel?"
"No."
"Then what are you?"
"I am awake"
