The airlines do not run a wants and warrants check on you. You are probably safer from arrest outside of Cali, No one will want to spend the $ to extradite on a misdemeanor

If you have a current warrant out for your arrest then you will have to be leery of any situation where you will be meeting the police. Airport security isn't the police though, its private security with low paid officers that were given some training by the FAA.

If you are working on getting the situation resolved, then go to whoever you are working with and get a document from them proving that the situation is resolved or being resolved. You probably won't need it, but it is best to be safe. If for some reason it would be illegal for you to travel then when you try and get that document you will be told that. Then you will have to ask a judge for permission to travel. Exceptions are allowed and judges are able to grant them. When they do you will get a legal document giving you permission to travel to the funeral. If your attempt fails then the legal system won't hold it against you, you tried to work with the system. Of course if you do travel then you could be arrested.

The warrant should not show up and you won't be on the no fly list (except by mistake), but if you are on the list, or if something unusual happens in the airport and a police officer is summoned then you could get into trouble. The chances of this are minor, but you need to make sure you don't break the law. It is a relatively easy job to ask a judge for permission to travel, and you have a very good reason to go. Contact who ever is helping you with this case and ask them what to do, just asking isn't a crime, not even intent to commit a crime. If no one is helping you or they are not available then look for a free lawyer.

It is a misdemeanor and airports will not know that your problem even exists. IF you were not allowed by the state to travel, trust me, you would already know, because they would have a bond on you as a flight risk. You're OK, but do follow through and do what they ask of you to clear things up and good luck to you.

the airlines are not going to run a background check. but if i were you i would take care of this as soon as possible. why would you have such a petty thing hanging over your head.get to court and take care of this situation. look how scared this thing has gotten you. it's not going to go away on it's own. when you least expect it it will show up at an inopportune time and you will end up locked up til the warrant clears.

No. You're going to DC where pedophiles like Mark Foley fly in and out of. Don't worry about it.

I don't know about California but in some places if they find out you crossed state lines, you're looking at even more trouble.
