if they are just dancing together it depends on how you go about doing just suddenly cutting in yes its rude

well, it really depends on who the two people are, and how you execute it. obviously if the two people came together as a couple then yes, it is wrong to cut in, but if thy just met up there and you politely ask, then i see no harm in cutting in.
