Do you mean like those planned communities builders are making nowadays. or historical planned towns?

If the former, you as a house owner get less choice as to what your house and yard can look like. You have to pay more fees. It is more crowded and expensive.

If the latter, they planned American towns in the 1700s and 1800s but they were not designed to handle today's huge population, nor things like cars and roads.
