I'm stuck in a rut lately. Can't seem to get my lazy *** out to the gym. Would love to hear how all of you out there get the daily motivation to get to the gym. :-)

Prior success is the best motivation for me. I know how much difference fitness makes in the way I feel, mentally and physically. I also have rewards/goals for myself. I train for mountain climbing and can visualize the next peak during my workouts.

You are welcome to look at my 360 Blog of September 10 if you want some thoughts on optimizing workout/diet.

You made a workout WORK! You don't need the gym. Get out and take a walk or run or ride your bike. And everyday, when you are sitting, do some leg lifts. While you brush your teeth do some squats. When you joined a gym you set yourself up for failure. You thought it was what you were 'supposed' to do, especially if you have the money. Then it means nothing. Been there, done that. Its a bunch of hype and you fell for it. So get outside and take control of your life. One MINUTE at a time! ;o} It's really fun out there. Get a dog or something, too!

I have friends who call me or come by my apartment and we go the gym together. The buddy system seems to work very well. The Te-Boo video work well or if get fit t.v. they have work out shows. Sometime the work outs at home are the best kind. Best of luck!

I just really don't have anything else to do...my husband is deployed. I also need to maintain a certain weight in order to meet Army standards, so that's a big motivation to not be put on the overweight program.

My basic motivation is that it is part of my regimen to fight my Diabetes and my Myotonic Dystrophy. I hate to go to the gym, so I go through an 45-minute whining session, getting myself ready to go and then I leave and go. It works real well for me.

i find it easier to exercise at home where I have my treadmill and weights. I hate going to the gym so i find that working out in the privacy of my own home is better. plus whenever i want to exercise, i can easily go on the treadmill. it fits better into my schedule.
