Now is as good a time as any. If you are waiting for the world to be safe, you might as well do something else. There is always something going on somewhere in the world.

At least in the Air Force, "They send their officers in to fight for them". In the other branches, you will see Lieutenants, Captains and the occasional "Crusty Old Major" out there on the pointy end of the spear with the troops.

You will meet all sorts of fine people. You will also hear some bragging about how they were "the most decorated ... " Oh well, everyone has "War Stories", many have tall tales, some join websites trying to revive past glory by trying to impress others while a few try to run for President.

The Military can be a great place for a young man or woman. Some even retire. Either way, proudly serve and defend your Country and the Freedoms that many take for granted.

Air Force is the best to go in ... My husband is in the Army and I was Army too I am out now. I don't recommend the Army or the Marines, both do to the high deployments and they are long deployments. The Air force usually just have 4 month deployments. Where Army is 6-12 months and some times longer. I also know that with the Army that you can be on a year long deployment and then be back in the states for 90 days and they can send you right back out again for another year. I have seen it happen.

Not at all, people may tell you that this is the worst possible time, but I can say from personal experience that this would be one of the best times to go in. The new budget just went into effect and jobs have opened all over the place. Really depending on what job you want will determine what base you will be assigned to and if you will go overseas. I wouldn't worry about if you have to go to Iraq, the air bases out there are secured, plus you won't even be considered to go over until you have 6 months to a year of on the job training after your tech school. If you want to join go for it.

No, if you join the Air Force you'll be alright and out of harms way, it'd do you good for your future. Don't go into the Army or Marines right now or you will most likely end up in combat. I say go for it, if you can get into the Air Force, they are pretty picky about who they take.

It is never a bad time to sign up and server your country, this is what sets you apart from the cowards and the brave. A real US Citizen would sign up now and fight for the cause weather it is right or wrong, this is for the future of our country, and our children and those that come up much after us.
So I would say if you are one on the brave and you have a heart of a real American you should join today.

It's never a bad time to join the airforce that's the best branch there is, and it's the one you are absolutely least likely to ever get killed in, even if you do go to war, unless your with a ground team, that is.

It depends on what you want, if you want to serve the country in the crisis its in, or not. It seems to me we might be in war a long time. But its your call.
