The surface was not cleaned or primed before painting, so now there are bled spots on the wall. I wondering if the is anything that can be done to hide the spots so that the walls can be painted properly.

If it was painted with Latex paint, sand and prime with Latex primer made to seal (read the label!) then repaint with Latex paint. If you use Oil based primer over Latex paint....it will bubble and create a mess that will make a grown man cry for his mommy. Good luck :)

I have a lot of knotty pine and we painted it years ago and is still beautiful . Kilz in the latex base works best , this is a primer. So use the Kilz and then paint. Dries very fast too. Good luck.

Kilz now comes in colors. You can have it mixed to your preferred color. After you paint it on, let it dry and you are done. The colored Kilz gives the same finish as normal paint and the gloss or semi-gloss type is washable.

You can buy Kilz at Walmart, places like Home Depot, Lowes, or most anywhere paint is sold.
Home Depot anad Walmart have the best prices.

Use Kilz. It will cover the pine or dark woods or dark paint colors if you repaint. It will also cover over smoke damaged furniture. It is in the paint dept. Best wishes!

You are going to have to prime it. The best thing to do now since it has been painted is to use an oil based primer. This stuff will stink, but it will work.

I agree with Splinter, you need to prime AND seal. Kilz is the best for this.
