Some puritan groups moved to America due to the persecution they received in England. They protested against the government and the Church of England for adulterating the message of the gospel. So they had to endure much suffering from the rest of the people.
The King and the government also felt that it would be better for them as well as for everybody if they were to go to the New World and practice whatever religious practices that they like or are accustomed to like the Amish community.

They wanted to separate from the Church.. they didn't agree with some of the aspects of how the Church was being run so to avoid persecution they ended up here. The puritans believed that the Church of England still held to many of the former catholic beliefs. At this time the church of England was considered protestant. The puritans believed that they could live a better life for God.

they were given land in america to start their own religion because the british king and head of the british church was fed up with their wining about how the church of england need to be more pure

they where forced out of their country along with alot of other people such as thieves murderers rapist political differences. this is what our country was built on.
