My daughter has severe food allergies. the problem is that the more you eat, the worse the allergy will get. Pretty soon, your throat will start to swell as a sign of the allergy. You need to see an allergist. Now they can give shots or pills to take for some food allergies. I hate to say it, but you have to give up chocolate... for your life.

It is pretty obvious that you are allergic, to some level, to chocolate. Unfortunately, the degree of severity of the allergic reaction can multiply many folds rapidly. The next time you eat chocolate can be the last time you eat anything. Food and medication allergies are the most dangerous, they can kill you. Talk to your physycian about it. The only "safer " way to eat chocolate, in your case, is to take a good dose of Benadryl 30 to 60 minutes before eating it. But in my opinion, you are playing with fire... a fire that could be the end of you. Think about it !!!

I problem might be the dye in the M & Ms and not the chocolate. Do you have this problem when you eat just plain chocolate without any other candy coating or without nuts?
If so, then I would avoid chocolate because it will probably only get worse with exposure to the allergan. Have you tried white chocolate?
Try talking to an allergy specialists. He can test you to see what you truly are allergic to.

I suppose it is worse, but I knew relatives that had allergies back in the 60's. My cousin was allergic to mosquitos. Just one bite would make her vomit repeatedly. She went to an allergist and had treatment for her mosquito allergies. I was allergic to nearly all raw fruits and vegetables. Even getting the juice on my skin made me break out in a rash. My great-grandmother had hay fever. She was born in the 1800's. I also was allergic to the smell of skunk. It would burn like pepper spray and I would break out in hives. Severe allergies do seem to be on the rise. The only analyphalatic reactions I knew about back in the 60's was to bee stings. You never heard of anyone dieing from eating the wrong food.

Allergy is not a problem but can be very disturbing. You can try consuming liquid zeolite to improve your condition. If you want to know more about this product, you can email me at mai_fol@yahoo.com.sg because I don't want to be accused of spaming and advertising .
Just to share, dark chocolate is good for health and studies have shown that when pregnant women eat dark chocolate, the child is born with good brain!! Also, it can help to lose weight.

And you think what...it might not be an allergy? You're aware of what's happening, and that it's getting worse. It will most likely continue to get worse, so you could get medical advice and possibly get desensitized to the allergen or switch to carob and see if you get the same reaction.
You wouldn't be the first person to develop an allergy to something you love. Shellfish is a common allergy. I know someone who loves fish and suddenly developed an allergy. And someone who's allergic to milk and most cheeses, but loves milkshakes. We were out at an auction and he bought a milkshake at a stand, drank part of it and threw the rest away because he could feel it affecting him. As we left, he said he should have an Epi-pen. I said, "Is it that bad?" "Yeah," he said, "I can feel my throat closing." This is playing with fire, though.

It sucks to be you!!! And I can only hope it doesn't happen to me because I love chocolate too. It sounds to me like your symptoms are getting worse. You might be taking your own life in your hands if you keep eating chocolate. You need to see a doctor about it and stop eating it.

you may need to ask your doctor about it if it happens again.
