How funny -- I have always had a socks/underwear drawer. In fact, everyone in my family did (and probably still does). I am proud to say, I am fungus free. I think you are pretty safe.

Seriously it is not a bad thing to do this if you are limited on space but if you have the room it is always much nicer to have them in separate drawers but in the same dresser or chest of drawers and most importantly if you wash your socks and underwear I doubt very seriously that you will have a fungus growing in your drawers. I am serious.

The likely fungus is Candida Albicans. It finds a good home in our intestines, and if it overgrows can spread internally or externally in our bodies. So it is likely that if you are experiencing an overgrowth of candida albicans (yeast), your underwear may contain residuals. I do certainly hope that hot water, soap and bleach kills it - but I have not researched that.
Socks may have the same fungus too, especially if you have had athlete's feet, ringworm, itchiness, etc. In my opinion, it is the underwear that is more likely to have the fungus, but both may have it, so it is entirely personal whether you keep them in the same drawer or not.
I don't, never have, even before I knew fungus existed. Because that is the way my Mom arranged it.
If you want basic information about yeast overgrowth syndrome, there is some info at the yeast link at www.hufa.org.

heavily it quite is not a bad area of attempt this once you're limited on area yet as quickly as you have the room that's continuously plenty nicer to have them in separate drawers yet indoors an identical fabric cabinet or chest of drawers and maximum heavily in case you wash your socks and underclothes I doubt very heavily which you have have been given gotten a fungus commencing as much as be on your drawers. i'm extreme.

If you wash your socks and underwear before you put them in the drawer, there shouldn't be any problem.

If you wash your clothes then it doesn't matter what you put in the same drawers. I have never heard of anyone getting any disease or fungus that is spread this way.

I have never heard this, but I can't imagine it being a problem especially since they are all cleaned in the same facility and with the same detergent. As long as they are clean, it should be fine.
