I was about to kiss this guy (Matt) and we were about to then it kinda got akward and then nothing happened! Please give some tips, tongue etc.

It seems like crossing that last inch or two to the actual kiss is always so hard, but if you just pluck up the courage and do it, you'll be glad you did. As far as technique goes, don't be in too much of a rush. And always mix it up. You don't have to kiss with tongue all the time.
If he's experienced, pay attention to how he kisses you and kiss back like that. And a kiss is more than just your mouths, move your hands at least a little. Run your hands across his back or into his hair.
I really only tell you that to get you started, though. Once you start kissing, you'll know what to do.

Honey if it's your first kiss, I don't think you should be thinking about tongue. But anyway, make sure that your lips are bare but soft (glosses and balms dry out your mouth), close your eyes and lean in at the same time as him, lean your head slightly and part your lips a little, then the rest will come natural! Or just watch a few flicks that have kissing in it like The Notebook

Kissing is something that will just come naturally. When you kiss someone for the first time you kinda lose all track of everything else and before you know it you're just... kissing. As far as tongue, that depends on if you or your bf are comfortable with it. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll kiss him eventually. :))

No tounge, My first was soft, not so short but romantically nice. just lips and holding hands then hugged each other. After thats, it's how your chemistry flows and how ya'll like it.

don't 2nd guess it next time - don't think at all, just do it. keep your lips relaxed and you should be fine. you'll get better with more experience anyway.
