I took these and I was wondering which ones are the best - also in general, what do you think of my work?

thanks -

Your technical shots of the products are good, but I liked the pink better. As long as you are going for "sharp," this one is better.

I really like ALL of your portraits, except maybe the smaller one of the guy laying on his back. Everything here seems to capture the personality and not just the person. You are in touch with your subjects and it shows. Everything is technically well-executed. Thanks for sharing. It's nice to be able to say so much good about someone here.

This one I like the best: Guy sitting on the stairs
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b20/eliinanicolephoto/doorwaylighter42.jpg

It captures and expresses a story all to itself, urging imagination regarding this guy .... is he in despair? tired from a long day at work? Is he angry? What was going on when the picture was taken? Where is he from and where is he going?

Your other pictures are very good, focusing on form and subject, also the creativity of culture expression with the guitar players.

Keep at it, you are doing great :)

Technically I think that you have a keen sense of lighting and composition, although I think that with some of your product shots the composition can be a little stagnent and are lacking the drama (color, and lighting) or movement which I see in your environmental portraits. In terms of what works for me the best I would have to say the first image works the best. It is witty, well composed in terms of its diagonals, lighting, color etc, but not nearly as posed looking as perhaps as standard as the other portraits(this is sort of a paradox the image is really posed, but not really, perhaps because of the person you chose to photograph, she seems to be a naturally dramatic individual). Perhaps though what could make this first portrait stand out a tad more is to use a slower shutter speed and have the model move her hands to have some blurring so as to show movement and emotion. Overall your images are pretty competent and fun, keep it up!

I like the sax player the best, but there were a few others I liked as well. The cologne bottles looked professional. The guy jumping with the guitar was a fun shot. The black and white of the guy on the steps was nice and moody. And there was a tiny pic of a guy lying down. Wish I could see that one larger! He's a cutie and your photo really brings that out.

i liked 5 and 7. the last one was cool too. i agree with that one person though, lighting would make it more dramatic, but the black and white one of the asian guy on the steps..i really like that one alot... i wanna do professional photography too but its too hard to get into so i'm doing it as a personal thing, not a career..i take really cool pictures of landscapes and things outside but not really people too much. i'm obsessed with taking pictures, everytime i go somewhere i have to have a camera.. cuz you never know what you will see and what will be the perfect picture that day... but i like your work

Very well done. I am not a pro, but I recognize nice work. They are all very good but I like the Pink cologne bottle pic. Good luck with your talents.
