Converting to Judaism is more difficult than converting to other religions, as Judaism in its essence does not welcome proselytizing and missionizing. We simply don't want others to become a part of our religion and nation.
But it is possible. The process is quite long and hard and it is called "Giyur"- the person who wish to convert must study Torah, Jewish history and declare the reasons on which he wish to convert, and then he's tested by Rabbis on what he's learned.
Once you are "giyor" (converted to Judaism), you are more than welcomed in any Jewish community and your rights, obligations and status is equaled to the born-Jews.
The "Giyur" does not consider your former religion, nor your ancestry, ethnicity, colour and gender. Therefore, everybody can convert to Judaism equally, no matter whether one is Asian, Black, or Caucasian.
If you wish to convert, go to a Rabbi and ask him to teach you about it. If you really want it, there's no reason for you not to pass:

I cannot answer this question from personal experience.
However, I can think of two public figures who might have something to say about the matter. Radio talk show host "Doctor Laura" converted to Orthodox Judaism, and then left that faith. Lauren Winner is another convert to Orthodox Judaism, who left Judaism within a few years of her conversion. There were some in Orthodox Judaism who welcomed her with open arms, but there were quite a few who could never look past the fact that she did not have a Jewish mother.
Here, I will post the amazon.com review of Lauren's Winner's book "Girl Meets God." Reading the comments of other reviewers should provide additional insights.

Technically you need your mother to be Jewish... so you'd have to be born Jewish... but you CAN convert, but you need to get an extensive education on the Torah. You can enroll in classes and do that, but it takes a while.

For a human, it is not easy as I understand if you are a Gentile.
I don't think aliens qualify though.
