Definately Malaysia Holel off Rama 4 near Lumpini Park. Great location, clean, safe, pool, 24 hour restraunt, and super friendly staff. I've stayed there numerous times and have many friends who also stay there. It's only about $12-14 US a night and it usually includes a good breakfast. I will be in BKK next week for several months and if I didnn't have a condo I would sure be staying there.
It's a great and safe city and you will enjoy your visit.

Hi, try Suk 11. This place is popular for backpackers and if you get a private room with aircon, cost you about 400-450bahts a night. And you can be quite secure with your luggage with a private room with your own shower. Convenience as it is on Sukhumvit Road neat Nana BTS Station.

To get there, I am not sure ofthe bus service from the new airport. Otherwise, I would love to let you know how. Maybe you can take a cab from the public taxi point. Join the queue at the exit door and wait for a cab to be assigned to you. You pay the meter fare plus 50bahts for trhe service, and any highway toll cahrges the taxi passes through. May add up to about 60-70 bahts, a guess here as I had not travelled from that direction yet.

Tell the cab driver to take you to Sukhumvit Soi Sip Et (11 in Thai) or Ambassador Hotel (most will know this) With this hotel on your right, turn left to a side road that will bring you to Suk 11. cue for you will be the Nana Skytrain Station which straddles across the main road and name on the side. The cab should be turning left just after this station.

Enjoy your stay.

i'd like to recommend SAMRAN PLACE. its a budget hotel but rooms are clean and breakfast included.

cabs are plentiful and cheap in bkk - just insist on meter before you hop in one though.
