You have to be prepared for the cyclone season in Australia every year... not just when it's a particularly hot summer.
You didn't say whether you actually live in this house or if it's an investment property. If you do live up that way, make your life a little easier when a cyclone is around by having one shelf or large drawer in the house just containing cyclone supplies. Batteries, torches, masking tape etc... And be in the habit of shelving your tinned food similar to the way a supermarket does, and rotating your stock. When I lived in the tropics, one thing I never understood was every man and his dog being in the supermarket at once scrambling for these items in a mad panic on the first cyclone warning... even if they'd been in town 20 years or more.
Cyclones are a fact of life in Australia. You just need to familiarise yourself with this situation, take it seriously, do what the authorities tell you... but not panic. And there is no need to panic-sell either. Real estate is a good investment in tropical areas of Australia... always has been, and cyclones are nothing new in these parts.

Australia gets a cyclone season every year, just some years are worse than others. Since Darwin 1975, the building codes are a lot stricter and they build houses to withstand them. Don't sell. There will be another huge year sometime but it tends to happen every 10 years or so give or take a few years.
