No, men are supposed to ask the women for a date.
So. Don't call it a date. "Hunk, my car is in the shop and I really wanna see the Mark Wahlberg movie at the GluttoMax --have you seen it?" is a request for help and logistics, but its' really a hint for a date.

I am a gal and there is no way I would ever ask a guy out. I had 2 older good looking brothers who were jocks. The women used to call them all the time and drive up in convertibles and take them out for coffee, etc. They went but never dated those gals. I thought of them as desperate, forward and bold...I was the shy quiet type but I was asked to all the important events that required a date.
Maybe things have changed...but not for the better when I read about all the problems young people have in their relationships onYahoo today. It is a pretty sad state of affairs really.

I think it's totally cool that women ask guys on a date... Be careful, however, on your approach because you don't want them to think that you go around asking guys out on dates.
I think you should find a common ground...something that interests the both of you (if you know him well)...and work something up around that.. (i.e. I was given these tickets to the Mets game, and don't have anyone who will really enjoy them other than yourself... would you like to go>?)
If you don't know him THAT well (but are closely acquainted with him) ask him for his help... (i.e. ...can you help me with painting my living room)
Finally, you can just say..."I think you're pretty cool (or other adj.) we should hang out some time"...then let him fill in the blanks.. if he doesn't get it... he never will...

why not. I once knew this girl that when we were talking about concerts, I suggested that who i thought was her boyfriend take to a particular one I thought she would like. She said why don't you. That was 27 years ago and 25 years of being the most fortunate man married to her. Go for it.

Yes, but you need a lot of confidents and have to be very comfortable with yourself. Just make clear that you are asking because you like this person not because you are desperate.

Yes its OK. You can just walk up and ask. Chances that the guy will be happy and kinda shocked. Might want to wait until hes alone to ask.

Smile, look him in the eye, open your mouth, and speak these words..."I'm going for coffee at Starbucks, would you like to join me -my treat." If he says no, he might not be in to you...if he says he has other plans...offer him a rain check and then it's up to him...
