I would think that they left off the most important part of the verse: Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Fear could be interpreted as respect, however, in this particular instance I think it means exactly what it says. If we do not have a healthy educated fear of the Almighty then we will have no motives to change our lives to live by His standards. Once we start to live by His standards and we grow in grace and knowledge of the truth, that fear is cast out by love. But we don't have the right kind of love at the beginning of our walk with God, that is why the word "fear" is used. The right kind of fear, if we have it will cause us to study to learn just what the truth or wisdom really is. And hopefully we will grow from there. The second half of that verse describes how to make that journey...........
