I'm not bashing anyone, I just think it's (sort of) blasphemous for there to be a homosexual Christian.

1 Corinthians 6:9
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

All those who think that the Bible doesn't speak against such things read these Bible verses: Romans 1:26-27; Leviticus 18:22; I Corinthians 6:9; I Timothy 1:10-11; I Corinthians 6:11; I Corinthians 10:13.
You can read them online at http://en.bibleinfo.com/topics/topic.html?id=131
God loves sinners but He utterly hates sin. If one steals, he's just as much of a sinner as a homosexual. We all need to repent and come to God for forgiveness.
There is no excuse for sin and the sinner shall die for the penalty of sin is death (Romans 6:23)

Where did God say this? God never told me that.
Now, it says it in the Bible, but that proves nothing. After all, the Bible was written by man and not by God. Need proof? Look at the beginning of your Bible. Mine says it was published in Michigan. I don't think God lives in Michigan. I don't think God would need to rely on publishers to get his word out.
So, how can there be a gay Pope? The Pope is human. Approximately 10% of the population is gay. So, there's a chance that the Pope is actually gay. Not that he'd admit it, since some Christians are under the mistaken delusion that being gay is a "detestable sin."
Edit: And while people like "justme" may feel that: "you will be judged by the Bible," it doesn't makes sense. How can aged pages judge you? Follow God instead of a book written by flawed men. The Bible will not lead you to salvation. It will lead to church leaders getting your money if you are gullible enough to be taken in by the modern con men.
Edit: And "justme" has demonstrated the folly of worshiping the Bible. When you take the Bible as the word of God, then you will believe anything written in it instead of listening to God itself. I am sorry that people like "justme" are seeking an answer to life based on what another man wants you to believe. If it gives you solace, then enjoy.
Final edit: To answer "justme", I am indeed a reverend with the Universal Life Church. I teach compassion and charity for our fellow man. I do not claim to represent God. It is hubris of the highest degree for any man to claim to know God. I think it's fairly obvious that we simply cannot know God. By encapsulating him into that tiny book called the Bible, we diminish God. Many people claim to know the answer--Christians, Muslims, Hindus--but the fact that there are numerous conflicting answers is proof enough that none of those answers are the correct one. Or at least, not a mutually exclusive correct answer.
I'd rather know God, and I cannot do it if I only limit myself to what generations of authors have jotted down in the Bible. Why would I take something so grand and confine it to the work of many tiny brains? Besides, the Bible portrays a god that is petty, vengeful, and jealous. As I said, I preach compassion and charity. The Bible does not focus on this message; it teaches that revenge is a virtue and salvation is obtainable through bloodshed. I do not hold the Bible to be a guideline for morality.

Only if all catholics vote for Richard Simmons. God does not view that life style as a proper one. Once again God Created Adam and Eve, Not Adam and Steve or Amy and Eve. No, It's not accepted unless he has repented and sworn off all sexual contact with men. Then and only then would he be santified to be Pope. I am not catholic, nor any other affiliation to a church. I am just a lonley voice crying out in the wilderness of sinners. I am just a christian.

You're question is valid, but you're information is flawed. Yes, it is quite a hypocrisy for a Catholic leader to be gay. The church often, loudly, and officially condems homosexuality. It would be the same as having a Pope who commits murder. But, unfortunately, hypocrisy is no stranger to the Catholics.
The flaw is when you qoute God. Most christian faiths have no official posistion on gays, neither for or against. There is exactly one passage of the bible that mentions homosexuality. It is sandwiched between the law against eating shellfish and which slaves it is permissable to own. Must faiths ignore the old-testament laws. After all, Jesus himself said that the golden rule was suficient.

The Bible classifies many things as sins and that all of our good works are as filthy rags before his sight-sexual sins are not considered worse or better than let's say fornication-adultery-or even plain old fashioned lust. The difference lies in asking God for forgiveness.
Do you think there is a single person alive that hasn't sinned? We all fall short of the glory of God. Including yourself. Which brings me to why do you single out this sin. Is it to help foster a better understanding or stir up controversy? Only God knows your heart so ask him for guidance.

If the Pope himself says it's okay then it's not a sin. He should know u know. He's the expert leader of Catholics. Just be thankful he's not a child molester.

there will never be a known Gay Pope but since it is the actual practice that is condemned and not the thought and since they practice abstinance it could have happened. being a practicing Gay, has the same penalty as being a Gossip so be careful.
