do they make you faster jump higher?

im a soccer player and im trying to get faster like explovive fast not for a long time but just faster in short distance. i also would like to wight more balence would ankel wieghts help me?

(im not going to use them while running im going to use them while walking in a regular day(i wouldnt do it while running cuz i already have knee problem) well the probem is that i lost alot of speed dont know why i just did i just thought ankel weights would give me back that speed by making my ankels stronger)

Use them to develope your "quick twich" muscles, the explosive ones. You wouldn't want to use them for long distance running. Good luck

Using ankle weights while running is very bad for your knees, because there is weight pulling your tibia (bottom part of your leg) away from your femur. This makes your ligiments stretch, which is very bad especially for a soccer player. Ankle weights have some good uses, but not while running!
I can tell you that the best way to improve your performance would be to go to an exercise physiologist, or many physical therapists are good to. Dont go to a personal trainer at a health club, because 99% of those guys dont know what they are talking about.

You need to practice jumping to get the most out of technique. You need to strengthen the muscles that give you the jump: quads, hams, glutes, calves. Talk to a high level fitness trainer; preferably someone with soccer and basketball experience. You also need to work on flexibility, head to toe, to get the most out of the awkward positions you'll find yourself jumping from. Finally, ankle weights aren't going to do a whole heck of a lot for you. Walking the stairs at work instead of using the elevator will increase your jumping muscle strength more than ankle weights will.

the idea of the ankle weights are to make the ankles and legs stronger, but in reality you are hurting you knees....you will have problems with your knees later in life ......in short ....the ankle weights are not helping nothing at all .......

for me the results of ankle wheights were tired legs. Ha Ha.

when you dont have them on running you make it so you can run faster
