question about some stuff in french grammar?

Question

In French ynow how for saying "I know it" you can say "Je le connais"
(or la, les, l'), well how do you do that in future negative and past negative?

Is it Je ne vais le connais pas and Je n'ai le connais pas? or something else? rather thana yes or no, please explain. Thanks

Je ne vais pas le connaitre. This one is using the futur proche.
Je ne le connaitrai pas. This one is using the futur simple.
- They both are in the future negative and mean: "I will not know it" or "I will not know him". However if you're refering to an "it" as opposed to a "him", you might want to use the verb "savoir" instead of "connaitre".

Je ne l'ai pas connu. This one is using the passé composé.
Je ne l'avais pas connu. This one is using the plus-que-parfait.
Je ne le connais pas. This one is using the imparfait.
- The first one means, "I did not know him/it"
- The second one means, "I had not known him/it"
- The third one means, "I did not know him/it"

First, you need to brush up on the conjugation! I know, there are a lot of things to learn.

Je le connais/ Je la connais: I know him/her
Je le sais: I know it
[I know (that) = je sais (que)]

Future positive: Je le/la connaîtrai
Past positive:
Passé composé: Je l'ai connu
Imparfait: Je le/la connaissais
Plus-que-parfait: Je l'avais connu

Future positive: Je le saurai
Past positive:
Passé composé: Je l'ai su
Imparfait: Je le savais
Plus-que-parfait: Je l'avais su

Negaitive form:
You put "ne" before the verb or the auxiliary
You put "pas" after the verb or the auxiliary
"Le/la/l'/les" are not separated from the verb (or auxiliary)

So:
Je NE le/la connaîtrai PAS
Je NE l'avais PAS connu (between the auxiliary and the participle)
Je NE le/la connaissais PAS
Je NE l'avais PAS connu

And you do the same for "savoir".

PS: you can add other words between the auxiliary and the participle. Ex: Je ne l'ai pas du tout connu. But you CAN'T say: Je ne la pas du tout ai connu

Passé composé: Je ne l'ai pas connu.


Sounds wrong though, it's usually "je lui connais" or "je le sais". But I'm sure there are cases where "je le connais" works.
OK I'm wrong. It's never "Je lui connais." You would say "Je le connais" for a guy or in some cases for a thing, in the sense that "I'm familiar with it" but not "Yeah, I knew that."

Connais is for knowing someone, or something. The correct term would be "Je le sais." For future negative it would be "Je ne le saurai pas." Sorry, I don't now what it would be for past negative.

Since we are talking about "it" and not a person, the verb would "savoir"

Present: je ne le sais pas"
future negative: je ne le saurais pas
past negative: je ne l'ai pas su (passé composé) je ne le savais pas (imparfait)
