we both are college students. he is a deaf but i am not. unfortunately i dont know any sign language....(well, i know a-z but I am not fluent at all =[ ......) I only have one class with him so it is hard to befriend with him. well, how can I befriend with him if i dont know any sign language at all?? I cant talk to him! he is very friendly, i remember one time i need help...and i saw him, so i just pass him a note and he helped me! at that moment I stared to notice him and I realise that he is VERY cute!! OMG....NOW WHAT? i am half-dying right now....please give me some advice!!

I have this shy personality is because of sad experiences with guys. I liked a guy while I was a freshman in high school, i kind of give him some hints and i am sure he get it. after a while, he showed that he liked me too. but at last, i discovered that he was joking and he was just trying to have fun on me. (he spread rumors about me too...saying things like: hey do u know XX? she is stupid!! lol cuz she thought i like her....OH WHAT A JERK)....from that time on, i feel like I would never find my ideal partner. i just feel like all guys dont like me. I cant take anymore bad results in relationship. I have had enough, i have so many bad outcomes. NOW WHAT ? Will I fail again this time?
I am so frustrated.

Well you could write him a note. You could learn a little sign language or better yet slip him a note asking him to teach you sign language! Another thing you could do is take a sign language class. Not only could you learn the language but you could learn more about deaf people in general for instance they don't usually like being called a deaf just deaf works fine. :) You could also go to a book store and get a book that teaches sign language if you don't want to learn in a public way. It would help if you new wether or not he could read lips, he probably can if he is able to be in school. Second right him a note tell him how you feel about him. If you two hit it off I can almost bet that he will teach you sign language. I give you major props on not being insecure about liking this guy. You seem like a very sweet girl. I know it wouldn't matter to me if the guy I liked had a disability I would still like him. Love is all that matters in situations like this sweetie so go for it and good luck.

I think that it's good in this situation that you're shy and silent. Lol. I think if you just go up to him and take his hand and look him in the eyes and slip him a note that he'll get the point. And if he wants to be with you, then you can have him help you with sign language. Mostly, be there when he needs you, you can help him do so many things because you can hear what he can't. This is so cute :) ...buy a spiral note book and on the first page explain to him how you feel tell him you like him be honest and dont be shy. I'm sure more than possitive he'll feel the same. Tell him you wanna learn sign language and u want him to teach you..IT will work out fine..good luck!

most deaf people can read lips. and just so you know, there is a sect of "orthodox" deaf people, if you will, that don't care to associate with the hearing world. i saw a documentary on it. I doubt this is the case if he goes to your college. secondly, don't learn sign language yet, becuase what happens if you end up going out with the guy and he dumps you in two weeks? then you will have wasted all that effort.
I suggest learning a few basics and just seeing if he can understand you when you talk to him face to face. then, if it goes anywhere, start learning it.

He's deaf not blind. Impress him with your appearance, dress really nice so he will notice. Write him a letter letting him know how you feel and if you're really serious about getting to know him that well, learn sign language. Once you let him know you're interested and if he feels the same way, then who better to teach you than him? Good Luck.

truthfully I don't know how to help you... but I just wanted to give you major kudos for liking this guy even though you know he is deaf. there are so many shallow girls out there that would not even consider a guy just because he is deaf or something else. learning sign language would totally suck, but it would be pretty awesome, and you wouldn't have to worry about being silent..... if not just keep passing notes......i guess....good luck with that...
