And there are prophets mentioned in the Old Testment that are not in the New Testment and there are prophets in the New Testment that are not mentioned in the Old Testment. Does it mean that the Old Testment is not the word of God, or are you simply guessing about revelation without knowledge. Daniel is not even revered as a prophet in the Old Testment. So becasue of that, is the New Testment the only word of God of all time?
"AND THE AHMED OF ALL NATIONS WILL COME." - HAGGAI, ii.7.
Are you sure you have enough knowledge of the bible. Would you know if another prophet came to Earth. Would you turn away like the people of old turned away from the prophets of the past because they had no knowledge too.
[3:3] He sent down to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming all previous scriptures, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel
[3:4] before that, to guide the people, and He sent down the The Quran. Those who disbelieve in GOD's revelations incur severe retribution. GOD is Almighty, Avenger.
[3:5] Nothing is hidden from GOD, on earth, or in the heaven.
[3:6] He is the One who shapes you in the wombs as He wills. There is no other god besides Him; the Almighty, Most Wise.
[3:7] He sent down to you this scripture, containing straightforward verses - which constitute the essence of the scripture - as well as multiple-meaning or allegorical verses. Those who harbor doubts in their hearts will pursue the multiple-meaning verses to create confusion, and to extricate a certain meaning. None knows the true meaning thereof except GOD and those well founded in knowledge. They say, "We believe in this - all of it comes from our Lord." Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.
Do you reject any revelation from God even ones you have no knowledge of? It is not here to dispute the Bible but to confirm it. We have faith in all revelations. The Quran is too complex and beautiful to be written by a man. Did you knwo Buddha could be a prophet of God? See you have no idea do you, the major world religions are just groups who took hold of different books (revelations) of God. Get over your self, God blesses all people.
There is a lot of why you can ask, but All knowledge belongs to God.

If I'm thinking correctly, only 2 prophets are mentioned directly in th eQur'an-Muhanned (pbuh) and Jesus. I could be wrong.
As far as the first answer to this question, it may nit be mentioned in the Qur'an, but the Hadith says that a Mahdi (Arabic for messianic figure) will come as part of the last days. THe prophecy does not contradict the teachings of Islam.
BTW, Muslims believe that JEsus will be the one that comes back to defeat the "antichrist" figure. Go figure. A MAJOR similarity between the two.

Yes I do not find Isaiah or Daniel prophet in the holy Qur'an.According to Islamic teaching there are more than 25 prophets but we only read in the holy Qur'an for 25 prophets such as :Adam,Nuh (Noah),Yunus,Shaleh,Haidir.,Musa(Moses),Ibrahim(Abraham),Luth.Huud.Syuaib,Ismael,Ishak,Yacub(Yacob),Yusuf(Yosef),Sulaeman,Daud (David),Uzair,Ilyas,Ilyasa,
,Yahya,Imran,Zakaria,Isa (Yesus),Muhammad. In holy Qur'an is spoken that Isa (Yesus) was not died on the wood cross, but he was saved and replaced by Allah. He will come back to this earth 40 years before resurrection day.

Had you done more research on this, you would've read the following Qur'anic passage:
(40:78)
We did aforetime send apostles before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any apostle to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah. but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods.
Not all the Prophets of God who existed throughout history were revealed to Muhammad.
In fact, there are Prophets that not even Christianity or Judaism know about, for example, the Prophets Hud and Salih who are mentioned in the Qur'an. They were not mentioned in the previous Heavenly books, nevertheless, they were sent to their people 'Ad and Thamud...

I don't find it odd at all. Different belief system, similar characters, different names. Humans need a reason to exist. Therefore, religion.

Probably because the most things they were prophecying about go directly against Islams beliefs..... Coming Messiah, end of the world with the coming Messiah... that sort of thing...

No not unusual at all. The bible is the only true word of the living God. The Koran or any other book claiming to be "holy" might have bits and pieces of truth thrown in to make it look legit, but they are not the same as God's word, which is divinely inspired by God. For every original there will be a phony. That's not news.
