YES, Sara, it does sound like Crazytalk, and don't let anyone put you down for being honest about the way it sounds to you. You are in good company.
"2 And [the women who had brought spices to bury with Jesus body] found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. 3And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus. 4And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5and as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake to you while he was yet in Galilee, 7Saying, the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8And they remembered his words. 9And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. 10It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11AND THEIR WORDS SEEMED TO THEM AS IDLE TALES, AND THEY BELIEVED THEM NOT. (Gospel of Luke, ch. 24)
See? Even the HOLY APOSTLES poo-poo'ed the story told by the women who were the first to see the Risen Christ. Like the women, the apostles had to have their own encounters with the Risen Christ in order to have the "will rise again in three days" prophesy referred to in verse 7 "gel" in their understanding. (I have no idea what they thought the prophecy meant the first time they heard it from the pre-Crucifixion Jesus: perhaps some sort of "figurative" resurrection, as distinct from a literal one?)
Those same disbelieving apostles went on to become believers--all of whom, with the exception of the apostle John, died martyrs' deaths. Many people, Sara, will die for something they THINK or BELIEVE to be true. But would the apostles have been willing to die for something they KNEW to be false?
Remember, verse 11 shows that the apostles' initial sense of skepticism was as healthy as the next feller's, even yours ;)

No, it sounds perfectly logical. Could you say that caterpillars becoming butterflies sounds crazy? Stupid analogy, but think about the bigger picture. If you don't believe that God is behind all of this, then you just don't get it. How could you look at all of the amazing things in this world and not be completely positive that it was created?

So, what's bothering you? People believe before that the earth is flat and the sun rotates in it. That 13th floor is a bad luck. Some belief is harmless so there's nothing wrong. If a belief will harm other people, well let's be all alarmed. But if a belief give hopes, so be it. Let it be.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
