Titanium, pound per pound is stronger than steel. There may be rare metals still stronger, but titanium is the strongest commercially available metal. Depleted uranium is denser. Diamonds, while not metal, are harder.
There is advanced work being done with things like carbon nanotubes, which have incredible tensile strength.

I agree somewhat with the first persons answer. However, Titanium does speed up the corrosion of most metal components it comes into contact with, especially aluminum.

also when excesive heat is put to titanium it becomes weak.

also just so you know titanium isnt steel.
