A management trainee position? Let's see...................

Generally line officers make up to 60% of the men they manage. Of course most carriers, like the UP, will only let you work 20 hrs a day, but that won't matter as you'll be on salary, so there's no overtime to lose.

It's a tricky business as well. Being "over qualified" is definitely a draw back, so you'll do best to hide any railroad knowledge you may possess. But it's a good idea to brush up on some key phrases:

"Sorry, no lay-offs."

"You got a watch and miles posts, don't cha? Who needs a speedometer?"

"Take your train out of town and THEN switch it out."

"The toilet stinks? These things have toilets?"

"The air test was legal. Go!"

"Yeah. I know you haven't had a day off in three weeks and you're tired. I'm tired too, and I'm gonna take it personally if you mark rest."

Wouldn't you rather be the next ax muderer? Your career will advance more rapidly, and you'll get much more respect from your peers......................

I don't know, but that last guy is definately talking from experience. Also, officials have to wear camoflauge to hide in the weeds to look for ways of firing you! You forgot to say "simon says"
