I live in the US. Just wondering since the more hours I work the more pain and numbness I have. So maybe I could work part-time and just get partial disability?

Just to clear it up. I AM working, and have been ever since I was 16. So no need to be such ***holes.

Find a physician that will be willing to state that the repetitions of your work are the direct cause of your affliction and you just might have a case- the other problem would be if you can also get him to state that it will not improve with time

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is not a disability, although it may disable a person for a significant period of time because it is is (a) correctable via minor surgery where you'll be home the next day, at worst; (b) can be avoided by proper use of tools, etc. Look, without going to a dictionary, "syndrome" refers to a set of symptoms that describe a condition. It is not something that is life-threatening or life-altering if the patient has proper sugery (it can re-occur insofar as the motions that caused it are not discontinued... like typing with bad body and hand positions). The key words to remember are correctable and treatable plus therapeutic rehabilitation and prevention. See your doctor and ask for a referral to a specialist.

Child good luck on that. Your just talking about carpal tunnel syndrome. I know people that have heart problems, and all other kind of medical problems and it took them about 4 years to get their disability. I have carpal tunnel and I know that the government will not pay me for something like that. Especially if you haven't had any kind of surgery. So good luck once again.

Check with your manager; it comes down to the individual company's policy on said disability.
