yes it does. Regardless of the type of discharge you will need to pay back any portion that you have been paid. If you recieved half up front for a 4 year enlistment and you completed only one year of it, you will have to pay back half of what you recieved (a quarter of the bonus since you only completed a quater of the term but you were given half) make sense? They will take it out of your final pay and IRS returns if you get any.

It is most likely going to be pro-rated if at all. The longer you were in, the less you'll have to pay back. Watch your credit report as they will report it as a negative after they send out the notification, even if the notification takes a long time to find you through no fault of your own.

Read the contract -- I assume that there was a contract (at least there should have been). If that doesn't do it for you, check with someone in the BuPers part of your detachment.

Depends on the type of discharge.
Honorable? no
General? no
Medical? no. (pre-existing condition? maybe.)
Dishonorable? get a lawyer.
