No it's not. The mercury content is high enough that you shouldn't eat it on a daily basis. Then again, if you're only having a teensy bit I suppose you could eat it every day. But you should only have 2 cans per week. The link below is the FDA warning on Mercury in seafood.

reasons why Mercury poisoning is a controversy is that your physique CANT get rid of it, no rely how healthful you're. ISo you have not got your information immediately. reasons why tuna and salmon are fish which you may desire to shrink is they are on the precise of the food chain, meaning that they ingest smaller fish that have mercury deposits in them, and shop those mercury deposits. in case you prefer to ingest fish yet are apprehensive approximately mercury, seek for smaller fish that are on the low end of the food chain. additionally there became much less an infection so fewer quantities of mercury in food throughout biblical cases. people even have been extra energetic, as maximum had actual jobs, and food ordinarily became much less processed and extra healthful, so as that argument would not extremely paintings. A correlation would not a reason make.

Sad to say, but the FDA is now recommending that you eat no more than two meals per week of "low mercury fish."
This includes: shrimp, crab, cod, clams, scallops, canned light tuna, canned salmon, pollock, and catfish. You need to be especially careful if you are pregnant or nursing.

You would think that it is, except for the pollution in our oceans from toxic spills and people dumping chemicals and garbage. I read that most fish have PCBs whether they are fresh water or salt water. PCBs cause cancer, brain damage, health problems. I also read tha t pregnant women shouldn't eat tuna because of this fact.

Yes, specially if you stick with light one. The dangerous kind is albacore - however, FDA warns only against consuming more than 3oz a day of it.
By the way, I would stay away from salmon, unless it is a really wild one - the farmed variety is packed with dioxine which is highly toxic - they add it for color sake.
