my cats do that and one of them is tall enough to open the door when we are in there....we have to lock the doors now. My cat also likes to hop in the shower with me....not into the water but sleep on the side of the bathtub or on the floor of the bathroom. All of them try to hop on my lap and know when I want them to get down. There's really nothing you can do unless you want to lock the door and ignore their pleas. I don't know what the fascination is about it ....lol....

My cat does that too, not to guests so much though. If it bothers you that much get a lock for your bathroom door, either through a new knob that locks or a simple latch. Otherwise don't worry so much. I don't reccomend getting a squirt bottle and squirting them, especially if their litter box is in the bathroom.
Maybe if you paid more attention to them when they weren't in the bathroom they would realize they get more attention in other rooms and stop. I tried that with my cat and it didn't help, but maybe your's are less stubborn.

I think cats know you'll give them your full attention at bathroom time. I think I'd just preworn guests about the cats. My cats usually beg for water out of the bath tub when I'm in the bath room. For some reason bath tub water is the best!

I have the same problem with my cat. Since you don't have a lock on your bathroom door if your snk is near with drawers in them open one and then they won't be able to open it up. It worked for me. They just don't want to be let alone.

my cat does it, they want to be petted alot since its change of the season and the weather is changing and their fur is also coming in.
set asside 10 min for each cat OUTSIDE and brush them. at least 3 times a week.
they should stop this, if it don't work, pay more attention to them and get a lock for your door.
the only thing worse than cats waling in is a kid.

My dog does this because I used to pet him there when he was a puppy, If you really want to stop it, keep a squirt bottle in the bathroom and squirt them when they come in, With cats, this should work very well.

They just want some love...lol
If it is so bothersome all you have to do is put them out of the bathroom and shut the door...

start spraying them with a water squirter.....put it in the bathroom and everytime you see them come in there.....spray them, not alot just a little and they will get the hint eventually. Just use an old spray bottle of some kind that is clean, with no chemicals.

You could buy a doorknob that has a lock on it.
