For example, yin and yang, the dragon and phoenix, etc. My husband and I are looking for desings that have two parts that represent love, marriage, harmony, masculine/feminine...... Does any one have any ideas for his/hers tattoos?

ALSO, we are not religious, so putting religious signs on our bodies is not a good idea.

p.s. Thanks and no offense to those who suggested the star of david. Good idea, but not a good fit for me!

OOOO A cool tattoo:
A ying and yang symbol with a dragon drawn in the center of each half. On one side have like a pink or red dragon, and out of its' flames are hearts flowing. On the other half have like a blue dragon or another color, and in its' flames is something masculine (can't think of a masculine thingy)

While tattoos may look nice if done tactfully, they do pose a risk of getting Hepatitis C, just so you are aware of this. It has been scientifically proven. I also know a guy whose parents are now dying from that and their dr. went over their medical history to determine that the cause is from their tattoos. The ink goes into the bloodstream through the skin so that makes sense. Being sure if the risk is worth it matters most. Then if you still want one, discrete places to put them are the best. It is not so good to have on a neck , if you have a high profile job when you get employed at a good company. The image that shows is looked at by employers. I also would think that in the neck it will hurt more to have it done. I would avoid the areas with nerve endings. Those can be highly sensitive areas to put a needle.

Check out the tattoo design from the movie "Hedwig and the Angry Inch..." It's simple, representing two parts completing each other within a circle.

A star of David (traditional symbol of Judaism) represents male and female merged together. It's an ancient symbol of life.

Why couldn't you both get the ying yang symbol, but only 1/2? That way, you are only "whole" when you are together?...Just an idea ;-) good luck.

Like the girl above says, when together they make the Star of David.
