I'm 14 and i have beed going out with my boyfriend for over a year. I really love him, and we are thinking about sex. He suggested it over the summer, but i didn't feel ready, and said no. He stopped asking.
But lately, i have been thinking about it more and more. I know there is a chance that i could get pregnant if i do it. what are the best ways to prevent pregnancy? i know that i need to use a condom to protect from STDs, but is there anything i can use as a backup plan in case it breaks?
please don't everyone thll me to wait till i'm married or to wait till i'm 18!

You have done well to hold out so long..
Is he somone special?
Do you love him?
Then why not , If you are sure you wont look back and regret it , then go for it..... if you think you are ready.

Make sure you plan ahead so u wont be rudley interupted and enjoy your first time ...... its the only one your gonna have!

If you use a water based lube there is less chance of the condom breaking and it will be less painful for you.

Also go to the chemest to see if they will sell you the day after pill , if worst come to worst.

P.S You will think sex is over rated your first time its not that enjoyble try to enjoy the more intermate side.

Honey, you're 14. Way too young to be having sex. If you are not sure, that should be your clue that this is something that should not happen. The best way to prevent pregnancy and not get STD's at your age is to NOT HAVE SEX. When you are ready to give yourself to the right man, you will know without asking strangers opinions. If you have to ask, this is not the right time or person. Do not let him pressure you into something you are not ready for.

I don't want to burst your bubble but 14 is really young. I dated a girl from age 16 -19, I am 21 now and I still regret having sex with her and I was 17 at the time. I wasn't ready then, you really should wait because a whole lot could change in a short time, I use to say I was going to marry my girlfriend and my mom tried to warn me of all the dangers of have sex to young but I blew her off. Save yourself while you still can.

You are FAR too young to even be dating let alone having sex. I'm not going to tell you to wait until you are a certain age or married...but I will tellyou to wait until you are mature enough to handle all of the emotional as well as financial consequences that will come with having sex. At 14 there is no way you can possibly be ready or responsible for such.

When you are ready, no one will be able to stop you. Using a condom is definitely a GREAT idea! I would suggest you go on the pill or some other contraceptive in order to keep from getting pregnant. Be careful, and be sure this is what YOU want. Good luck.

My girlfriend is 29 and I've been with her for 6 years and she still doesn't think she is ready to have sex. So it's kind of hard for us to figure out what the big rush would be.

I would ditch your boyfriend. What a jerk, asking a question like that at 14. You've got your whole life ahead of you. Find a real boyfriend who will respect you and not take advantage of you.

Condoms do the job. If your condom breaks there's still the morning after pill (It's not 100% effective). Basically, wait until you're SURE that you're ready and know that NO METHOD OF BIRTH CONTROL IS 100% EFFECTIVE with the exception of abstinence. If you're willing to accept the consequences, then go for it.

I can't believe that teens can actually ask such questions. No, sex at 14 is not right. Wait till you marry your boyfriend then you can do whatever you want. If you can't get it out of your mind masturbate, its better than getting pregnant. Please think about yourself don't lose your respect. You're a beautiful person don't make a wrong decesion.

Birth Control. Are you comfortable with telling your mom? Wait til you're ready.

Please, Please wait until you are older
Their is a difference between sex as a child and sex as a mature adult
If he really likes you he will wait
Just concentrate on doing teen things
Sex will always be here, just enjoy your life baby girl

Their are a lot of consequences to your decision (sex)
