I was recently prescribed Lunesta and, of the four times I've taken it, I have had the most awful taste in my mouth for at least 12-18 hours the day after taking it. What makes this a side effect of sleeping pills?

I'm not sure why, but I do agree that the taste is NASTY !
I threw up the first 2 days after taking Lunesta. Plus it never really worked for me.

Thank goodness the good doctor switched me over to Ambien CR. The bad thing about Amben is that it loses effectivness after a few months as your body develops a tolerence to it.

The bad taste from Lunesta won't go away until you stop taking the med. You might want to talk to the Doc and get him/her to find something else.

Hope this helps.

Being playful is one undertaking....Being demanding is yet another. think of for one 2d the style you are able to sense in case you had worked all day and have been attempting to get some sleep and this demanding person saved pestering you. that's no longer playful to him. he's annoyed with it. provide up bugging him whilst he's slumbering. administration your self by ability of analyzing a mag or a e book on an identical time as he sleeps or pay attention to the radio with head telephones on. notwithstanding you do precisely do it quietly and enable the undesirable guy sleep...i won't have self belief that he made you're taking one in all his pills...he in all probability gave it to you to leave him on my own...yet i do no longer think of he shoved it down your throat and made you swallow it. Even it psychological hospitals the nurses provide meds orally and that they might desire to envision the sufferers mouth and below the tongue because of the fact a affected person does be able to no longer take the meds.

I heard certain sleeping pills work certain ways. Ambien works directly on the brain and not some numbing stuff like all the others. I wish I knew how to explain yet Ambien works that's why it's only sold by perscription.

From what Ive been told and understand most pills have a coating on them so you dont have to taste them...There are some that dont, I believe some sleeping pills are this way to dissolve and start working faster.....

Many medications do that to some people. There isn't much you can do about it .. either use the medication .. and accept that as a side affect .. or try a different medication .. like Ambien .. as an example. Good Luck ! :)

I think it's because the pill relaxes you so much that your body slows down and makes less saliva which it what breaks down bacteria and plaque. With low saliva production, the bacteria and plaque adhere to the teeth and inner mouth and when you wake up the taste and smell is horrendous.
