Any photo/graphics program is only as good as the person using it.There are no programs where you can just click a couple of buttons and everything looks how you envisioned it.
Even in the best and most automated programs, it takes some user skill and practice and a good deal of work to achieve the desired effects.

That said, here is some good information for you in regards to programs. For learning how to use the programs, and do the things you want to do, google "digital photo effects tutorials".

Check out the Broderbund website at http://www.broderbund.com and go to their graphics section, they have several "morphing" programs, including one that might do some of the effects you want. You will probably still have to fine tune with a photo editing program.

From the Adobe website, http://www.adobe.com , you can get a 30 day trial of either Photoshop ($650), or Photoshop Elements 4 ($90).

From the Corel Website, http://www.corel.com , you can download 30 day trials of Paintshop Pro X ($80) or Painter ($380) or Painter Essentials 3 ($80).

The cost may be worth it if you are anticipating a lot of use on them. At least you can try them out and see if it's something you want to invest in.

Also, the below websites have image-editing software with a varying degree of complexity and capability that are totally free.

This is a free photo editor called PhotoPlus with professional features. I do suggest that if you would like to sample a good one try Adobe Photoshop because it is one of the best, professionals do use the CS version.
Wanna see some stuff done by people using Photoshop check out www.worth1000.com.
Anyway have fun and remember SUPER-THIN is not IN :)

Adobe Photoshop or Jasc PaintShop professional, or Gimp. each a sort of has a device that permits you to stick your photograph on a transperant background; crop out what you do no longer want, and delete it making the transperant background take over making that area sparkling.
