well i personally am vegetarian, vegan is way too limited for me, but hey thats me! so anywayz...vegan is an excellent way of living, but can only be healthy if you do it correct and look into a lot of research, if i were you i would go into it gradually by becoming vegetarian first then ease into vegan, it will be an easier transition, and a lot easier to commit to by not jumping into something so extremely different head first, best of luck!......

From what I understand, if it grows in dirt you can eat it. No eggs, cheese, NOTHING with any taste & nothing with any animal fats. No butter, No ice cream, etc.
If a rabbit eats it, then you can....
And I do NOT mean that *********.y!!!
Seriously you even have to buy a special jello & you have to drink things like soy milk.
My step-dad has family that are vegans & they are all dying from a disease. One has leukemia, one just died of heart diesease, one has cancer & one has high blood pressure & diabetes.
And they say being a vegan or vegitarian is HEALTHY????
Those I just mentioned were constantly walking around popping vitamin suppliments. Why would they need those if the vegan diet was so healthy???

Don't forget to check whether innocuous sounding products have non-vegan ingredients ... some cheeses, say, may contain animal-based rennet. Great things can be made with chick-peas & lentils ... and tempeh. Eats lots of tempeh !!

Yeah, I'm trying to become a nice person, pass the pork rinds, would ya?

Although a vegetarian life style is workable, the friends I have that abstain from meat are a little "yellow-ish" please try to eat a little food that is from all of the food groups, you need things that vegetables just can't give you...Why don't you work up to it slowly, just to stay healthy?

Remember not to wear/buy leather shoes, leather jackets, leather handbags or leather sofa's
Always check food labels and if it has gelatin in it do not buy it as gelatin comes from pigs and/or cows.
I was vegan for 15 years.
This seems a good site http://www.vegan-cookbook.com/

Mother Earth: " I can't believe you're not gonna eat"
You: "I just don't think I like meat anymore"
Mother Earth: "Was it not cooked good enough?"
You: "No, No, I just don't like when things have to die to provide me with nourishment."
Mother Earth: "What are you talking about, I made all this for you and you are worried about it dying? You realize that plants die too. And if you are worried about health, just eat my chickens."
You: "Mom, just calm down, I'm at a weird time in my life and I am really confused about what I should care about."
Mother Earth: "It's that friend of yours, Mindy. She doesn't eat meat either. If Mindy jumped off one of my cliffs, would you?"
You: "It's not like that, Mom. I just don't want to eat meat anymore."
Mother Earth: "I've heard enough. You'll be sorry when you have protein problems. Then you'll kill a bunch of innocent beans."
