Good one for setting is to play on a basketball court and try set the ball into the basket, just like you where shooting.

some drills I do by myself is setting the ball against a wall or just passing the ball straight up and seeing how many hits i can get before it hits the ground

I usually do a pattern against the wall. I do pass, set, spike. In your case its pass, set, pass, set, etc. During PE I had a test in which you have to bump (pass) the ball to yourself but you have to do it 10 times in a row without it dropping to the ground. My mom taught me to lay on the ground and set it to yourself. when you get used to that, stand up and do the same thing that I did with bumping. Good Luck!

Practice setting and bumping to the wall and when the ball bounces back off hit it again and pretty much just pepper with the wall.

you can also lay down and just set the ball. it works really well if you use a heavy ball. it makes your hands stronger. i made one myself by taking an old ball cutting it open and stuffing it with old tournament shirts then sewing it back up. if there is anyone around (even if they are not vb players) you can just have them throw balls at you to pass.

ball control. bump and set to yourself and try to stay in one place. to practice over hand serving, go up to a big wall. throw the ball up, and finish by sandwiching the ball between your hand and the wall.

Lay flat on your back and start to set, then as you get more comfortable with that start trying to stand up while setting.
