About a month and a half ago I had two filling s done, one on the top and one on the bottom, The bottom one caused me quite a bit of pain i went back to the dentist and after two weeks he redid it and said he put in a protective cover on it, which pretty much did away with the pain, Now two days ago i chomped down on a tic tac mint and i noticed pain on the top tooth, since then it has gradually got worse.
Do you think i should wait few dyas and see what happens or go back right away

You probably "sprained" the periodontal ligament. It's the little group of fibers that hold your tooth in the bone and act as a shock absorber when you bite into hard things, like Tic Tacs. It will probably feel fine in 3-4 days. If it gets worse instead of better, though, you better see your dentist right away.

I would go back right away. I would ask for more durable fillings as well, I don't know how your fillings could open? Maybe time to change dentists as well. Myself, I haven't had a cavity or a filling for the last 33 years, and I am 45. I drink Toronto water, which has chlorine and fluoride in it, perhaps that is why my teeth are healthy. My daughter is 16, and she never had a cavity in her life or a filling. She was drinking Toronto water.

Sounds like you have an infected tooth. I would go back to the dentist as soon as possible and have him correct the mistake he/she made the first two times. Sounds like they didn't deaden the nerve first before they did the other stuff. He/She should fix it for free and if they don't I would report them to the Better Business Bureau to get them banned from practice for not using the right technique in the first place.

No offense, but I think I'd find a new dentist. You may need a root canal instead of a simple filling. It never hurts to get a second opinion!

No, I would go back right away. There is always a reason for dental pain. He may have missed part of the decay. My daughter is a dental assistant & she says pain is the way your mouth talks to you. Good luck!

I'd go back and tell your dentist he/she can fix it for free.
