Nurture; specifically...lack of bonding to the parent of the same gender. This causes a "hunger" which, during puberty gets sexualized.

i think a combination of nature and nurture can be attributed to most human behavior, not just sexuality.

Quite an excellent article written written by Jeffrey Satinover, M.D.
in the NARTH Collected Papers, 1995. Long, but worth the read if you are really looking for answers:

I think that it is a combination. I think maybe that its a choice made very young if it is a choice that a person makes for him/herself that it is either OK or not OK to be homosexual. Then when they grow up maybe are having to rethink whether it is or is not OK. I find it hard to believe that is a Person is homosexual that they are not into both sexes, hard to believe for me that they are 100% into one sex, unless because of a traumatic experience.

studies in Germany because of a statistical increase in gay born at the end of WWII indicate fermale sexual responses in male children of mothers under high stress levels. Wierd but true. Seems to be caused by hormones from constant stress and fear in the mother. It does not mean all gayness is from this but enough to be studying it as a cause.

Purely Nature. I didn't choose to be homosexual nor would I EVER make that choice. It's not pleasant and there's nothing particularly good or easy about it.
