If we considered men as advanced apes, we would choose to love those who were docile and admire those who were exceptionally intelligent; and we hated those who didn't suit our likeness.
When we learned to know that men were the children of God who bore all the seeds of God's attributes, we would reasonably change our attitude to unconditional love.
Facing the brutality of the persecutors, Christ told His disciples to forgive because the persecutors know not what they were doing.
And now, the Messenger of God for our age says:
30. O SON OF MAN!
Deny not My servant should he ask anything from thee, for his face is My face; be then abashed before Me."
(Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words)
Yes, mankind really need a divine education to change radically and return to their noble station.

Sounds like Baha'u'llah taught the same as all the teachers before him. I had figured as much, but wasn't certain.
If everyone followed their own religion to the best of their ability, this world would be a much better place.

Are you proseltyzing?
Mankind doesn't need a divine education to change radically and I would take issue with your statement that mankind has a noble station to return to.
Humanity has always been a territorial, pack mentality, violent species. We do not have the physiological tools to stop the "Us" versus "Them" phenomenon. Instead of appealing to gods that separate humans from each other, we should, instead, appeal to the common thread that's within all of us. We all need to breathe, we all need water, we all need food, we all need shelter, we all need loved ones. Everything we need is limited in nature, not infinite. That means we must all learn to share, even with those we disagree with. What has this to do with divine education? I learned it as a four year old in Kindergarten. Share your toys and everyone is that much happier.
Occam's Razor is very much a part of social relations.

Unconditional Love. I have heard Christians (and I am one) boast that God loves unconditionally. Do we really understand that word "unconditionally"? That means no matter what I say, no matter what I do, no matter what I think, and time is not a factor, God will love me. I guess the only explanation is God loves those who are burning in Hell. There is a Greek word for that .... Oh yeah Bologna!

one doesnt have to love others because some scripture asks them to, but one should do it for the sake of humanity. we are humans and we have a responsibility here not only to each other and our species but also to other species and life forms.
a word of respect, a touch of tolerance and warmth of a acceptance can do miracles within seconds -- and all for the love of humanity.

the question starts ok .. .
but how does unconditional love reconcile with the quoted passage, which appears to be a threat? Do what my servants say, or else?

it is embodied in the civil law of men to love one another, also on the bill of rights especially on human rights. it is also written on the scrpture to love your fellow human being as we were created by GOD fairly came from the dust,so show your respect and love to one another. if he hates you because of satanistic thingking or demonic temptations from satan, just love love because it says on the bible to love one another.
