From LAX to Hawaii's airport is 5 hours.
Right now though it may take much longer because of the 6.6 earthquake, the whole state is declared in state of emergency.

5 hours and whatever amount of time the tower needs to get the plane on the ground and to a terminal. I'd like to see what kind of aircraft these clowns talking about 3 hours were flying on...there isn't a commercial aircraft flying that will do it in that short a period of time, unless they have drop-tanks and afterburners!

In 2002, I flew on an American Trans Air L-1011 from LAX to HNL. It took us five hours and a half to get there. It took us five hours on the way back.

It would take about 3 hours, if no delay and good weather. Good Luck (If you are thinking of going to hawaii, are in hawaii and leaving, or live in hawaii and going on vacation...)
