I'm talking about if I'm opening a file directly from the webpage! Instead of opening in a new window in Windows Media Player, it stays in the same window and plays with Quicktime. How can I change that and make WMP my default???

1. Open "Windows Media Player"
2. Click "Tools" (*Depending on your setup you can right click on the top of WMP to bring up the menu)
3. Click "Options"
4. Click "File Types" Tab (At the top)
5. Click "Select All"
6. Click "OK"

From now on opening a music or video file will use Windows Media Player. You can also select which types of media files work with WMP if you want but this is a sure way of fixing your problem.

Go to the options menu in Windows Media Player. Use the button at the top, near the maximize and minimize buttons to get to the menu. Then, under file types, choose which file types you want media player to be the default app for, and that should take care of it.

open media player,go to tools>options> file types tab> click select all>click apply. Doing this will set Windows Media as the default for all music and video files.

There is an option in Media Player to make it your default player. Do some searching.

You scream and yell at your computer!

No...But seriously:
What you do is you right click the file and you go down to open with... and you go to choose program and then you highlight windwos media player and theres this checkbox near the bottom that says "Always use this program to open files like this one" you check that one and click ok and your done. Now the ICON of the fiel may not change but it will still change the file player.
JOSH YOU THIEF YOU STOLE MY POST!!!...Lol!!!
