There's is no reason why you cannot do most of these things like painting. Don't fear powertools, they are actually easy to operate and fun. The folks at the hardware store will help to pick out the right interior paint and everything else you might need. More complicated jobs like the roof repair, call a repair man in front of your husband. Make sure to ask what the job would cost and repeat the cost so that hubby hears. If that doesn't get him moving, how about going on strike (his laundry and meals?)

There is not a job in the house or outside that I won't do. I will do it all, not a problem. I would rather mow and run weed eater than have a guy do that, as I don't like the grass thrown against the house. I want all the stuff trimmed around and neat looking. As far as inside the house, I will do it all as well. There is not a job that is to nasty for me, it all has to be done. I am not afraid of getting dirty and or sweaty, there is soap and water to get clean with. I am not afraid of getting a finger nail broke either as they do grow back. Now there might come a time when something that is to hard for me and need a little help but I do every thing that I can possibly do myself.

My husband tries to fix things but he doesn't always succeed. We kinda help each other out. I like to paint so when the house needs painting then that's my job but he's pretty good with the plumbing and electrical repairs. Not everyone is capable of doing these things so when professional help is needed, don't be afraid to call someone.

Actually I am very blessed and my hubby does fix things, but I am certainly not above doing some of those things myself. I am the one who always does all the painting ( and actually enjoy it). I am answering simply because if your husband is not just being lazy, but is simply not good at fixing things....cut him some slack. It is not a given just because he is male. Just like me being female does not make me a good cook or seamstress.

I was always fixing these things myself until I met my man. He is fantastic! There is nothing he can't do. He has worked so hard this last month fixing things for me and even maintaining my car. I am sorry you don't have someone to do this for you. I am happy to have found him.

Why does your husband have to fix it? Just hire a painter and have it done right away. No more worries.
