Yes, when dealing with your thyroid it can be difficult to lose weight. However it can be done. First you need to start eating healthy, get rid of everything that has added salt in it (look at ingrediant label not nutrional label. Everything has naturally occuring sodium) Stop drinking any kind of soda they all have sodium except diet rite. Start drinking water only, stop using sugar. Portion your meals, write everything down you are eating. Eat 5-6 times a day every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Eat proteins, carbs (complex carbs not simple carbs), veggies, and fruit. Stay away from snack foods, stay away from fast foods, stay away from prepackaged foods, get back to the basics and the weight will come off.
