For child abusers and molesters, YES.

Edit: Awww, how cute. The petty 'thumbs downers' would like to feed and shelter child molesters.

I think I need a drink!!!

in the modern world i do. some people are completly worthless to society and are dangerous to other people. it may not be the right of man to take the life of another but it is also not my responsibility to pay for the houseing of a criminal (tax dollars)
violent criminals with a high chance of repeat offenses should simply be disposed of. child molesters, murderers and rapists should be given NO mercy. they gave up their rights when they took the rights of the people that they victimised.

but i would prefer Celtic law.

every crime had a fine. and if you could not pay the fine you were a slave to the family of the person that you committed the crime against untill they said that it was paid.

while indentured you were the sole property of that family and they could do with you as they wished. if they chose to starve you to death so be it. if they chose to keep you in shackles so be it.
needless to say they had a very low crime rate in most gealic tribes.

If the crime involved murder, child molestation or forced rape, proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. The offender should be lead from the court room straight to the gallows for a public hanging. These violent crimes would be almost non existant in no time at all.

I think it kinda depends on what the person did. The Bible supports the death penalty though.

"Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed;
for in the image of God
has God made man. "
Genesis 9:6

I would support it if it were consistent; but it isn't. Proportionately speaking, more minorities get sentenced to death than others. Also more men are on death row than women who have committed the same crime. The judicial system needs to be fixed.

I can go both ways on this question. In most cases, I always feel that when God said, "THOU SHALT NOT KILL" it was meant for everone including the law. And then I see some terrible story on the news about some horrible, disgusting person who raped and killed a kid, or mutilated some old person and then I think, KILL THE BASTARD!! It's hard not to feel that way but killing is wrong no matter who's doing it.

Absolutely not. I view the death penalty as a barbaric example of cruel and unusual punishment.

Depends on the situation. For terrorists convicted of plotting mass murder, yes. For some guy convicted of killing a rival gang member, no. The former instance is so atrocious that I don't think most people would disagree with killing a person like that after 9/11. In the latter instance, I don't think it would make much of a difference and it is only going to waste a lot of time and tax payers money that could otherwise go towards schools.

I do in some cases where there is NO doubt that the person is guilty and they even admit they are guilty. They are an expense to tax payers and VERY dangerous to the prisoners too!!!!!!! I believe a lot that are in the prison need help much more than confinement though! Like therapy.
