Why on earth do you think it is "gay" to get hard making out with your girlfriend? I would have thought it was gay NOT to, I mean I would be pretty suspicious (and insulted) if I was making out with a guy and he didn't get hard.
Don't hold it down - it sounds uncomfortable, and it's there for her to play with, after all.

It's normal to get excited while making out with someone. If the girl makes fun of you then she isn't mature enough to be fooling around in the first place.
